J.League-Table October 2006

Urawa Reds were held to a 2-2 draw at home by third-placed Frontale on Saturday, which kept the Kawasaki outfit still in with a slim chance of lifting the title with six games remaining.

J.League top scorer Washington opened the scoring for Urawa but Juninho and Kengo Nakamura replied for Frontale either side of the break before Ponte levelled for the home side at Saitama Stadium.

At the bottom Kyoto Purple Sanga managed a 1-1 draw at home to Oita Trinita and Avispa Fukuoka also won 2-1 against Jubilo as the race for the play-off spot against the J2 third place team intensifies.
